The Bridge:

Chapter 1

August 15th, 1998, a team of scientists found a bridge between India and Sri Lanka. The strange part is it is 200 feet under water. The bridge was still intact.

Dr. Janet Simmons, a Canadian scientist who named the bridge “RAMA” after the Indian mythology god’s name who has to create the bridge 1,500,000 years ago. Dr. Simmons left Canada in 1985 to study the Indian mythology.

“We will take control of this expedition,” said Dr. Deepak Sharma, an American scientist, who worked for the Simpson’s Artifact Corp (SAC). The SAC is a multi-million dollar corporation that wants to sell the 1,500,000-year-old artifacts.

Dr. Sharma was born in Los Vegas, Nevada USA. At 20 years old, he was the youngest person to graduate med school.

The Rama had very high radiation. As the divers came near the bridge, the radiation increased the level to dangerous for humans. The ground shook in terror. Sharma told the divers to get the artifacts at any cost. “You have to go down there and get it!” demanded Sharma. “It is too dangerous!” yelled Simmons as she pulled Sharma back.

It started to rain heavily. The waves were 50 feet high. Sky’s were as black as night. Winds strong as a raging bull.

Simmons ran in to their shelter with one of the divers. “This is to strong for diving!” screamed the diver as the wind blew a tree breach and knock the diver in to the sea. “NO! He yelled, as he fell in to the pitch-black sea.

Sharma found a crown on the ground and hid it in his backpack.

“What was that?” asked the remaining diver. “Nothing, and mind your business. “Replied Sharma with sinister grin. “What is the purpose of this expedition, and why have you idiot?” asked one of the guides.

Simmons walked over to the kitchen area, picked up a pot of coffee, and took a sip. As she looked around, she saw a gold object near by. “What is that?” asked Simmons. Sharma shook his head and replied that he did not know. Sharma reached out picked up the gold. It was a gold plated cup. One of the other scientist bought it as a souvenir from a gift shop in a near-by village. Sharma sighed in relief. “Thank-god” he said.

Hour past, the storm showed no sign to slowing down. Simmons looked out side and she could not believe what she was seeing. The waves were as violent as demon ripping a through solid brick.

As minutes pasted, Sharma thought to him self. Could the crown be a fake? Could some one had placed it here? He brought it out and showed it to Simmons. Simmons looked at it in amazement. “Were did you find it?” she asked. The gold shimmered in her face. Much to Sharma’s surprise, she gave it back to him.

“I guess you are a very rich man.” Simmons said sadly. “No!” exclaimed Sharma. “It is ours, I was wrong to take it for my self!” Explain Sharma as he handed Simmons the crown back.

“This is made of solid gold!” explained Dr. Chris Chandra.

Dr. Chris Chandra, a expert in Indian Mythology. “By the way this crown is shaped, for a Apes head. A really big Ape.” explained Chandra.

“Do you mean, what I think you mean!” asked Sharma. “Let’s not jump to any conclusions. There are no scientific bases for that explanation. There must be a more scientific explanation! Explained Chandra.

Few Hours past. “6PM” sighed Chandra. “It looks like the storm is almost over. “He continued. Just as he said that, the ground shook as if it was swallowing something.

“The Rama, It is gone!” Shouted Simmons as she ran to the underwater raider monitor.” Simmons, Chandra and Sharma could not believe how a bridge that big could just vanish in to thin air.

Chapter 2

Days turned in to weeks and weeks into months. The team was loosing hope to ever see the Rama again. “Do you think we can send another group of divers down there again?” Chandra asked Simmons to which she replied, “We already sent divers to see it nine times in the last four months! I think we will see the Rama again. I have hope. Just not yet…”

A cell phone rang. “This is Dr. Simmons here. Yes, I see. I understand completely.” she said sadly on her phone. “What happened?” Chandra asked. “The SAC has cut our funding. We have to leave in five days or if any one wants to stay, they are welcome to but, the SAC will not fund us.” She replied.

Simmons told the whole team what had happened. “I don’t know about any one else, but I am not leaving until I find an answer! She Shouted. “Either are we! Sharma and Chandra both exclaimed.

They all said good byes to the every one who decided to leave. Simmons seemed upset. More then half of her team left. It seemed like they could not continue this with only six people. She remembered what her dad use to say “When ever life gives you lemons. Make lemonade sweet heart.”

One foggy morning Simmons was walking through a bush. She saw a large seven-foot figure holding what appeared to be a gold colored club standing three feet in front of her. “Who is there?” She asked in a frighten voice. No one answered her call. The fog was too thick for her to see completely. Just as she came close enough to see, what the figure disappeared. Simmons ran back to the camp in shock.

Sharma saw Simmons running back to the camp very fast. He ran up to her and asked “What wrong Janet?” To which she replied “I saw some one or something! It was a seven-foot tall. It looked like it was holding a gold club.”

Just as Simmons told Sharma, Chandra came running in. Both Sharma and Chandra looked at each other in disbelief. “Maybe you saw a shadow.” said Sharma. “I know what I saw!” screamed Simmons. “I’m not crazy!” She continued.

One hour went by and Simmons was still in shock. Sharma walked over to the dinning room area. He picked up Simmons’ daily logbook to see if he could find any other explanations for it. He could not find any. Simmons walked that route over five dozen times in four months.

“Hey Johnny, can you come with me? Sharma asked Johnny. I want to see what Janet saw over there. Don’t forget to see bring your gun.” Sharma said to Johnny. “No problem bro.” replied Johnny Sharp.

Johnny is Deepak’s hotheaded half brother. His specialty is in extreme survivals. Eighteen years old and already holds three World Extreme Survival Championships.

Sharp and Sharma were strolling through the bush. They found nothing out of the ordinary. “I knew we wouldn’t find any thing.” Joked Sharp. “Let’s go back to the camp. I hate this gray and gloomy day.” He said with an annoying look.

Just as they got to the seabed, the ground began to shake. “It’s an earth quake! We have to get back to the camp.” Yelled Sharma to Sharp. No sooner, he said that, the Rama jumped to the sea level.

Chapter 3

The Rama looked magnificent. Over 1.7 million years old and all of its stones were still intact as if some one built it yesterday. Sharma and Sharp both ran to the Rama. Its’ stones shined in the sun like gold. On the floor r the bridge, laid a pile of cross bows and arrows.

Sharp went and picked up an arrow and looks at it very carefully. With confusion in his eyes, he says to Sharma, “It looks brand new!” “That can’t be right!” said Sharma, now examining a cross bow with a magnifying glasses.

Sharma walked two feet forward and saw the exact likeness of the crown he found on 15th of August. As he picked it up, he noticed more and more crowns just placed there. “We have to hide some of these!” Sharp yelled out. “You are right! If Dr. Simmons finds out, she will want to donate all of it to the museums.” Sharma agreed. They picked up a few of the crowns and crossbows and hid it in a near by bush.

The thunder and lightening roamed across the Rama Bridge. Sharma was crotched down on his hands and knees stuffing jewelry in his pockets, he found. Sharp took a dagger out of his belt and cheeped up behind Sharma. Sharma saw him coming from the reflective glasses. As Sharp came closer him, Sharma took out his handgun and pointed right at him. In shock, Sharp pointed to Sharma’s Shoulder. There was a black Scorpion on him. Sharp saw the Scorpion. He was going to kill it. Sharma grabbed Sharp’s dagger and stabbed the scorpion.

“I thought you ware going to kill me.” Sharma said in relief. Sharp joked that if he wanted to kill him, he would be dead long time ago. Sharma did not laughing at Sharp’s jokes, he went further in to the bridge.

Just then, Simmons came barging in. “I saw the lightening.” She said in shock. Her breath quivered when she realized that she was on the Rama Bridge. “How did it happen? She asked. Both Sharp and Sharma mumbled but could not give an answer. Simmons looked around the bridge to see if she could find answer for this. She could not find an answer.

“Look at this! Sharma yelled out! Sharp and Simmons ran out to see what sharma found. To his surprise, it was a skeleton of a prehistoric ape-man. “This can’t be right?” Sharma asked.

Every one in the camp could not believe what they were seeing. A proof of people in the Ramayana story were not humans.
